Why a play off for 3rd place would be awesome

There is a real possibilty that if Arsenal win 2-1 at Newcastle, and Chelsea draw 0-0 with Everton, we could have a play-off for third place in the Premier League, for direct qualification into the Champions League.

There has never been an end-of-season play-off in the history of the Premier League although organisers did have to prepare for the possibility of a play-off towards the end of the 1995/96 season when Manchester United and Newcastle United were both contending for the title.

Bluntly, play offs are awesome, I think Watford v Leceister City's last five minute of the play off was enough to greatly advertise them. And if you didn't see what happened, what were you doing?!

The only thing which is a major concern of this play-off is that with Chelsea's USA tour, and internationals at the end of May, the play-off would have to be scheduled for June, which no-one wants.

So even though I would rather Arsenal take third while the season ends, football fans would all bloody love and deserve a first, historical, playoff in the Premier League.
